Samuel Hubbard

Samuel Hubbard Snow Lodge, Black Leather w/ Gray Shearling

For days so snowy that the city shuts down, the Snow Lodge boot from Samuel Hubbard is more than ready to go outside.

Samuel Hubbard started by choosing the finest shearling lining—a grade normally reserved for expensive coats. Even in the deepest snow, their winterized Snow Lodge boot, with the Hubbard GORE-TEX® waterproof construction and Vibram® Carrarmato rubber hiking sole, will keep your feet toasty dry and fully oblivious to the fact that it’s cold outside.

This boot is born and bred for snow. The deeper the better.

  • Premium full grain leather upper provides ample protection from the elements.
  • GORE-TEX® waterproof and breathable membrane keeps your feet dry, regardless of the conditions.
  • Full glove-leather lining delivers buttery soft feel and eliminates pressure points.
  • Vibram® Carrarmato hiking sole provides confident footing and all day support.
  • Fine shearling lining keeps your feet toasty warm and happy.
  • Time-saving side zipper for easy on and off.
  • Triple-Density memory foam insole, topped in silky smooth leather. Easily removed if you wish to use your own orthotics.
  • Easily resoled for years of comfort. See our Resole Program.
  • Designed in Mill Valley, CA. Handcrafted in Portugal.

The Snow Lodge Boot was designed to give you a generous fit with plenty of room for your toes. If this is your first pair of Hubbards, you'll likely find them true to size.

*If you already wear a shoe from our Casual or Outdoor collection, you may find that the shearling lining initially makes for a narrower fit that will compress within a couple of wears and will feel true to size.
*If you already wear a shoe from our Dress Collection these may feel slightly roomier.

Bruce Katz, founder and CEO, is a third generation shoemaker who is following in the tradition of his grandfather who started the original Hubbard Shoe Company in 1930 in Rochester, New Hampshire. Hubbard built a reputation for fine footwear where fit, comfort, and durability were paramount. When domestic manufacturing became unviable in the early 70’s, the family re-invented their business with the creation of Rockport Shoes, which were made in factories all over the world. Samuel Hubbard Shoe is a new family enterprise created in 2012 with the mission of creating the most comfortable walking shoes for work and for weekends.

At Samuel Hubbard, we design shoes where comfort and craftsmanship are never compromised. Being just “good enough” is not good enough for us. If there is a better method, if there are better materials, then that is what we choose. We strive to honor the past and what we have learned as shoemakers since 1930. Bruce Katz’s father Saul often said, “We make friends with our shoes, one pair at a time.”

Our company is based in Mill Valley, California on the side of Mount Tamalpais. The first collection is produced by a factory on another hillside, in the north of Portugal.
